In Maryland, almost half of the total number of adult individuals with disabilities face poverty and struggle to afford the basics and the medication for their condition. They as well barely get access to education and career opportunities exacerbating their financial status. Some of them become more vulnerable to chronic health conditions, mental health problems, homelessness, and substance use disorders due to the lack of access to social services because no one around them can guide them to appeal for support and services available in the community that could enhance their way of living.
Graceful Hand Incorporated is a charity organization established to specifically address these dilemmas faced by adult individuals with developmental disabilities. We provide them with a home wherein they can begin a new and better chapter of their lives. We support and prioritize those extremely low-income individuals who are using Social Security or Social Security Income as their primary source of income.
